The queen stage of the Vía de la Plata. The climb to the Béjar mountain pass (1,200 m) crosses from Extremadura into Castilla y León. The Roman road is magnificently preserved on the ascent. Spectacular views from the summit. Descent towards Calzada de Béjar through oaks and chestnut trees. A tough but unforgettable stage.
