The longest stage at the start of the Vía de la Plata. It crosses the border between Andalusia and Extremadura through Sierra Morena landscapes of oak meadows and Iberian pigs. Many pilgrims split this stage with a stop in El Real de la Jara. Monesterio is famous for its Iberian ham.
