1

A Coruña → Bruma

A long and demanding stage that marks the start of the English Way from A Coruña. You depart from the Church of Santiago in the heart of the historic centre, crossing the city through the Mesoiro neighbourhood. The urban landscape quickly gives way to green meadows, eucalyptus forests, and charming small Galician villages. The path gradually gains elevation, with several moderate ascents and descents that test your legs early on. You pass through O Burgo, Cambre, and Carral, all of which have basic services for refuelling. The final stretch into Bruma is more demanding, but the peacefulness of the rural surroundings makes it worthwhile. Bruma has a public albergue and private accommodation options.

2

Bruma → Sigüeiro

A transitional stage that winds through the Galician interior among gentle hills and river valleys. From Bruma, you walk along forest tracks and well-marked trails through mixed oak and eucalyptus woodlands. The landscape is deeply rural: stone granaries (hórreos), stone crosses (cruceiros) at crossroads, and the constant sound of water from small streams. You pass through the hamlets of Presedo, Leira, and Brea, where you can rest and grab a coffee at a local bar. The accumulated elevation gain is moderate, with constant ups and downs but no major climbs. Arriving in Sigüeiro, on the banks of the River Tambre, you find a peaceful atmosphere with several accommodation options and restaurants to prepare for the final stage into Santiago.

3

Sigüeiro → Santiago de Compostela

The final stage of the English Way from A Coruña is short and predominantly flat, perfect for savouring the arrival in Santiago. You leave Sigüeiro by crossing the River Tambre and walk along tree-lined paths that gradually bring you closer to the Galician capital. You pass through Meixón Frío and the neighbourhood of Roxos before entering Santiago's outskirts. Excitement builds as you spot the first towers of the Cathedral. You enter the historic centre through the Porta do Camiño, walking along cobblestone streets until you reach the majestic Plaza del Obradoiro. An unforgettable moment to collect your Compostela at the Pilgrim Office and attend the midday mass if timing allows.
